How to Capture the best Confetti Shots!
The confetti shot is more often than not my favourite shot out of every wedding I’ve ever photographed. It’s so spontaneous and joyful and it is the one shot I always include in my list. The first thing that you need to do is check that your venue allows confetti. A few venues don’t allow it. If yours does here are a few things to consider when buying your confetti.
Make sure you buy it and don’t rely on your guests to bring it. Only a couple of people will bring confetti along to a wedding. If you want the best confetti shot you have to buy it and buy a lot. Give each guest a good handful or two throw. You can never buy too much confetti. If there’s some left over we’ll just do it again.
The best Confetti shots!
I personally prefer the real petal confetti as I love the colours! Large discs of colourful paper also look fantastic and this confetti floats slowly in the air.
Leave it to me to set up! I’ll ask a bridesmaid or usher or two to help give out the confetti. I’ll tell all your guests where to stand, how to throw it and to give you a massive cheer as you walk on by!
When you’re past all of your guests as they pelt you with confetti don’t look down! Look up, look at each other, smile, laugh and have a little kiss. I don’t want to be taking photographs of the top of your head as you protect your face from pieces of paper!
Enjoy it. It’s such a great moment and these images are always my favourite of the day!
You can buy confetti on Etsy or Amazon but if you’re looking for some first class confetti get in touch with Shropshire Petals for some fabulous, eco-friendly petal confetti!
